Ya Kumba's Nest donates to New Babies of the Year

Ya Kumba's Nest, a charity committed to ameliorating the plight of women and girls in the country recently donated baby stuffs and cash to new babies of the year.

Since its formation, the Nest has been instrumental in the fight against Gender-Based Violence and other issues relating to women empowerment in a bid to safeguard and protect the interest of children especially the girl-child.  

Thus, the move, which has now become a tradition for the charity, Sunday morning visited Faji Kunda and Banjulnding health posts, where the items and cash were delivered to the beneficiaries.

At Faji Kunda Health Centre, the first baby of the year was announced at exactly 12:00 am, while the second baby was delivered thirty minutes later. Both are bouncing baby boys.

For Banjulnding health center, one Fatoumata Fatty gave birth to the first baby of the year at exactly 12:00am, while Isatou Jambang delivered the second baby fifteen minutes later. 

At the presentation ceremony, Ramatoulie Camara and Bubacarr Y Bah, both Officers-In-Charge at both facilities respectively, expressed delight to be associated with the event.

Both commended the charity for the foresight and choosing their facilities to extend support to new babies of the year.

Also speaking, Yusupha Gomez, an adviser and a board member of the foundation, explained that this is the second time the foundation is embarking on such laudable venture, further promising to continue the initiative yearly. 

Gomez indicated that the priority of the foundation is to better the plight of women and girls in the country. 

The beneficiary mothers, who were short of words, heaped praises on the foundation for the ‘wonderful and timely gesture.’

The gesture, they acknowledged, came to them as surprise and pray that God Almighty to continue blessing the foundation to be able to achieve its objectives
