The gesture is also part of the Chapter’s effort to ensure well-trained social workers, tourism administration and community development experts who can subsequently serve as partners in development.
Dr Yahya Muhammeh Bah, founder and executive president for Tourism For All – Gambia Chapter said Tourism for All was founded in 2006 with the objective of ensuring that there is inclusive tourism.
Saja Sambou, in representing the director general at the Gambia Tourism Board thanked Mr Bah for offering the six beneficiaries the opportunities.
According to him, at GTBoard they put capacity building and skills development at the top of their agenda knowing fully well that for the tourism industry to grow, the capacity of the workforce must be enhanced.
He added that without workers with the right skills and knowledge to manage our hotels, they will not be able to compete with other destinations no matter they structures they put in place.
