Spanish NGO renovates Tallinding Sicap ECD School

A Spain based Non-Governmental Organisation- ONG Ser Humano recently supported the renovation works at B. Sambou Nursery School in Tallinding Sicap.

The project seeks to not only to enhance early childhood education but also create conducive learning environment in the community.

At a recent event held at the school, Baboucarr Mansally, Councilor Tallinding North Ward, expressed gratitude to ONG Ser Humano and de Canarias for supporting and transforming the local ECD school into a beacon of hope and a model in terms of early childhood education in The Gambia.

“These improvements are not just bricks and mortar; they are the foundation upon which we will build the future of Tallinding North. They represent our commitment to providing quality and affordable education from the earliest stages of a child's life.” he said.

He added that “as we inaugurate these renovated facilities, remember this is just the beginning. The real work starts now; to utilize these improvements to their fullest potential, to continue raising the standard of education in our ward, and to ensure that every child in Tallinding North has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.”

The Tallinding North Councillor called on parents, teachers, community leaders and well-wishers to come together and support the schools.

“Let us build upon this foundation and create an educational ecosystem that will be the envy of the nation.”

Francisco Javier Vazquez Perez, director NGO Sen Humano based in Spain, expressed delight to be associated with the event, saying; “I am glad the ward has a selfless councilor who is willing to contribute to education of his ward and country in general.”

He assured their continuous support and collaboration for the development of the ward.

Paul Beyai, a teacher at the school, acknowledged that children are the future and it is essential to set a good foundation for them in well-constructed classrooms and schools in general.

He thanked the donor and assured the continuous care of the school and its new furniture for long lasting use.
