Police arrest man, 61, with alleged drugs and unlicensed firearm

A joint patrol involving officers from Siffoe Police Station, the Drug Law Enforcement Agency, SIS, and other agencies at Siffoe Beach has led to the arrest of a 61-year-old foreign national for possession of alleged prohibited drugs and unlicensed pistol on Wednesday, January 16, 2025.

The operation uncovered 10 wraps of cannabis, leading officers to the suspect's residence, where additional cannabis, an unlicensed pistol (PT 111 G2, 9mm), two magazines, and 82 rounds of live ammunition were found.

Investigations are ongoing, and the Gambia Police Force encourages the public to report suspicious activities to enhance public safety.
