The courtesy visit was to introduce and present the 6-women newly elected members of the association to the High Commission as well as discuss the aims and objectives of the association.
The visit, also accorded the executive the opportunity to discuss with the High Commission different issues geared towards strengthening the bilateral relationships, trade opportunities for the members of the association, peaceful coexistence among other pertinent issues.
Receiving the executive members, Ambassador Muhammed Manu, Nigerian High Commissioner to The Gambia, welcomed the newly elected executive and applauded them for the foresight.
Ambassador Manu also hailed the members for their love, faith, and belief in Nigerians, especially on inter-marriage.
He dilated on the good relationship between Nigeria and The Gambia, while further assuring them of Commission's support in their endeavour at all times.
It would be recalled that the Nigerian-Gambian Wives Association The Gambia was formed some years ago and comprises Gambian women who are married to Nigerians. The association currently has over fifty members. The newly elected executive members assumed office in January 2023 after the election and will spend two years in office.
