The event was held at the Governor’s Office in Brikama, West Coast Region (WCR).
Nic Van der Riet, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the foundation said his work is centered on teaching and preparing students for the job and internship market but also to positively impact the society.
He noted that his aim is to work with Gambians to ensure a sustainable future through education as well as impact the right attitude in them and also guide them to establish their own businesses.
He stated that he provides half finances for free for young people who have developed their business plans and give them the other half as a loan. He noted that as entrepreneurs they need to take risk – something he said he is what he is doing with young people to ensure they succeed.
He highlighted the need for young entrepreneurs to be independent and not wait for government to create job opportunities for them.
According to him, the country has many schools but most of them are less impactful.
He expressed his willingness to continue supporting young people become better leaders.
Samsideen Jeng, a member to the foundation, said many young people have registered great success and achievements through the foundation.
He noted that The Gambia has a high youthful population and the initiative to support them succeed is positive for the country.
He highlighted the need for young people to get together and work under one umbrella as well as make sacrifices for their nation.
