The inauguration was attended by hundreds of worshippers in and outside the country. This new mosque was sponsored by His Royal Highness, Oba Moshood Abolade and supervised by the Paradise Estate Community Association.
At the inauguration, Karamba Jatta, Imam of California Mosque in Farato, reminded the Muslim congregation about the significance of a mosque and called on all to be instrumental in spreading the teachings of Islam to the followers of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.)
Delivering his sermon, Muhammed Lamin Trawally, who was the Guest imam, underscored the importance of building a mosque and called on the Muslim ummah to always make the structure a place worship.
“It fundamental for the Muslim Ummah to perform the five-daily prayers at the mosque and on time.”
To that end, Imam Trawally elaborated on the importance of the new mosque to Muslims in the area, reminding that the mosque is situate such that it is closer to the community.
“This mosque will help us teach our children about the teaching of the Holy Qur’an and also to observe together special Muslim occasions in the community like weddings, funeral among others.”
According to him, ‘if one builds a mosque for sake of Allah’, it is only Allah the Almighty that will build the same house for the person in the hereafter (paradise).
He thus preached for people to invest in sponsoring mosques as it serves the entire Muslim Ummah.
