Held at the Auditorium of the University of The Gambia’s Administrative Campus in Kanifing, the event brought together 50 students from the Schools of Economics, Development Studies, Law, and Political Science.
The seminar exposed participants to the dynamics of regional integration frameworks, with a focus on trade, economic growth, and industrial development.
Sessions were facilitated by experts from government and academia.
Mr. Ismaila Saidy took students through ECOWAS protocols on the free movement of people, goods, and services, and their link to The Gambia’s industrial transformation.
Mr. Bai Dodou Jallow spoke on opportunities available to students at the University of Ghana, while Mr. Ousman Bojang presented on AfCFTA and its implications for industrial development in The Gambia.
The students engaged directly with the facilitators, asking questions and seeking clarity on areas they found complex.
The participants expressed appreciation to MoTIE, UTGSU, and the resource persons for organising the timely engagement.
