Continuing his defense, Cham told the court that what actually irritates him was that when his brother asked the accused (Awa Jammeh) what she had done, she clearly told him (brother) that she doesn’t regret her actions and that's how she proceeded to the Mandinary Police Station, where she gave her statement to the police prior to going to the hospital.
During cross-examination, Awa Jammeh, the complainant asked the accused ‘if he wanted to say that he has never had sexual intercourse with her? To which the accused replied in the negative.
However, the complainant maintained that the accused is responsible for her pregnancy.
At that juncture, Prosecutor Badjie, who represented the Inspector General of Police tendered the three injured pictures of the accused, which were later admitted in evidence and marked as exhibits.
The prosecution equally applied for an adjournment to enable them call another witness.
Presiding Magistrate K.B. Sambou accepted this request and the case was adjourned to 11th December, 2024.
