Prior to her appointment as the council’s planning and development director in 2019, she was the KMC engineer in 2018.
She testified that her role as the council director of planning and development is among others to support the council in facilitating and managing development projects, while claiming that she had two deputies– one for planning and the other for development.
The council SMT, she went on, sat every two weeks, saying: “I can provide a list of all the development activities of the council starting from 2018 to 2023.”
The witness is also a member of the Senior Management Team (SMT) of the KMC, a member of the Contracts Committee, and also at the Planning and Development Committee.
The Planning and Development Committee, she explained, comprises of three councilors, the CEO of KMC, the director of planning and development and some experts outside the council.
Quizzed by the commission’s lead counsel as to how often they sit, she responded by saying “We sit when the need arises.”
She further testified that the meetings of the contracts committee are dictated by the ongoing development activities and are based on needs.
Nyima Camara is also expected to reappear on a later date before the commission.
