However, the graduands underwent different courses during their three-year spell at the institution notably; business management, Journalism, Catering, Technical and among others.

Known for its academic excellence, Insight Training in recent years is committed to training and retaining young professionals to contribute meaningfully to professional teaching and learning and to help shape the future of the young people in The Gambia.

At the event, Dr. Ismaila Ceesay, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Insight Training Centre (ITC), recalled that for over the years, they have embarked on projects which include the prison project to ensure that the rights of the vulnerable individuals are protected and valued in the society.

“Quality product and then ethical work and discipline workforce. There are different skills areas that we are running. However, our mantra is quality and then good.” he mentioned.

Dr. Ceesay reminded that for one to be innovative, he or she must look at societal issues, which he said, is marred with different challenges.

“I think people need to look for the problems in our society and then the solutions to those issues. Those doing construction need to know the effects or the impact of what they are doing, to the environment.”

He also acknowledged that skills are beneficial to everyone especiallly the differently able individuals in the society as those people need to be empowered, educated and be skillful for their own well-being and the betterment of the country.

He made reference to some international organisations that worked with his institution towards the project implementation, noting that these organisations include UNDP, British High Commission and the Gambia Children Association.

Muhammad Jagana, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Koringo Financial, who served as a guest speaker at the event, underscored the importance of education and skill in the development of any country.

Jagana thus encouraged the new graduands to be more active towards their skills keeping in mind that education without skills is just like physical exercise further advising graduating students to always contribute to the development of the country with the skills they have learned.

Mariama Dibba, a graduating student, in her vote of thanks on behalf of the students, thanked the school management for the knowledge they have bestowed on them during stay in the school.

She assured that the knowledge and skills gained at the institution will be put into the good use.
