The MOU basically revolves around areas meant to provide complex surgeries especially on children.
“We also expand by assisting in the treatment of other diseases like diabetes and high blood pressure.” stated Dr. Khan.
He also revealed that the team visits the country twice every year to access the progress and its impact on the population especially the vulnerable.
He, thus emphasised the tremendous successes made in regards to preforming complex surgeries on children, saying during this year’s trip, the team was able to visit Bansang Hospital in the Central River Region, for the first time.
Dr Hammad Khan, who is a consultant at the New Born Hospital in the United Kingdom, maintained that the team of doctors from UK also provides training to Gambian doctors and nurses.
“The staff were very welcoming and accommodative. We conducted training to the staff there as well as the EFSTH in Banjul.”
On the side of the government, Dr. Khan said that government is very collaborative and more willing to ensure the full implementation and success of the MOU.
