The donation to the beneficiary organisations are: National Youth Parliament (NYP) - 2 laptops and 65 inches smart TV l; Peace Hub received 2 laptops,1 medium-sized office HP Printer (Colored) and 85 inches smart TV.
Similarly, Beakanyang organisation also received 2 Laptops and 1 Medium-sized office HP Printer (Colored), Peace Ambassadors received 2 Laptops and 4 HP Printer Cartridge Projector likewise the Peace Network, which also received 2 Laptops with a PA system.
The gesture was aimed at enhancing the operational capacity of these organisations and to enable them to scale up their activities effectively.
At the handing over ceremony, Baboucarr Sallah, International Trade Centre (ICT) Gambia representative, explained that his Centre is a joint agency of the United Nations and the World Bank Trade Organization, which focus on developing the export capabilities of Small and Medium-sized businesses in developing and transition economies.
Sillah revealed that the ICT is 100% aid for trade supporting trade that delivers inclusive and sustainable development results, saying ICT’s mandate covers all developing countries and transition economies with special emphasis on the least developed countries (LDCs), Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs), Small Island Developing States (SIDs) Fragile States and Sub-Saharan Africa.
Delivering a vote of thanks, Omar Cham, speaker of the National Youth Parliament, who spoke on behalf of the beneficiary organisations, hailed ITC for the gesture and for assisting them in the process of peace building.
NYP speaker described the event as timely and that it comes to fill existing gaps in their various organisations.
