
Assistant Commissioner of Police Lamin Manka, Commandant of the Police Training School, joined his counterparts from various African Union member states to discuss harmonized strategies for police training, capacity building, and regional security cooperation.
Organized by AFRIPOL in partnership with the Egyptian Police Academy and supported by GIZ, the meeting focused on streamlining e-learning platforms and improving the ownership of online training content across member states.
“Each country is expected to nominate an expert to help create and manage online training materials,” the announcement stated.
Additionally, the participants visited key security installations in Egypt, including the Police Academy, the International Drug Control Centre, and the Special Forces Training Centre.
ACP Manka emphasized the necessity of national commitment to strengthening security infrastructure, with technical support from AFRIPOL and partners such as UNODC, CEPOL, and GIZ.
The press statement concluded by noting that the Gambia Police Force remains dedicated to advancing training standards in line with international best practices.
