GMB Promotion signs Pascal Mendy, Pachichi

In its bid to promote and expose young talents on the international stage, GMB Promotions, an entertainment company recently signed music contract with two young Gambian stars- Pascal Mendy and Kadir Jabbie, widely known by his stage moniker -Pachichi.

The ceremony held at Motherland in Senegambia, represents the promotion’s untiring efforts to harness and scout for young talents in the country. It also marks a historic milestone; it is the first-ever signing of Gambian talents under the music label. Under this agreement, GMB Promotions will be responsible for their music from production, marketing to even distribution amid wider exposure.

At the signing ceremony, Christopher Mendy, alias Chris Black, a Gambian- Germany-based promoter and event organiser, underscored the importance of the event, noting that this partnership represents one of its kind as they are signing two young Gambians.

Chris has in the past worked with numerous artistes and partnered with key industry players in their broader effort to help promote the country’s young talents.

“We’ve been working with different artists, different people from different continents, but this is the first time GMB Promotion is signing Gambian artists living in The Gambia. So, it is a great day for us,” he stated.

The Gambian promoter maintained that the event also marks the start of insightful journey for the duo as they work to transition to another height, looking at the global stage.  

He spoke highly of the abundant talents he discovered in the duo, promising that he is ready to promote their stuffs on the international spotlight.

 “It’s not just about signing. We must be pragmatic, take action, and make sure The Gambia is seen on the global stage,” he added.

Sticky B, another music promoter lauded the initiative as a move in the right direction. He described Chris Black as one of the most successful music promoters in the country of recent, and that the signing is a dream come true.

“It was not an easy journey, but this is what we always envisage to achieve – how to promote Gambian music to another level. Supporting young talent is part of our motto and GMB Promotions is here for all Gambian talents.”

The Gambian event promoter also spoke of his readiness to support GMB Promotions to help them achieve their desired goals.

Pachichi, expressed delight to be part of the initiative, further thanking Christ Black for giving them an opportunity.

He spoke of his love for Gambian music and called on fans to continue supporting Gam music to propel it to another level.

According to him, he has lined up songs that will be part of his upcoming album that he’s preparing to drop any time soon.

Pascal Mendy, the other young Gambian talent, who has already amassed steady fan base in the country, expressed his resolve to meet up to fans’ expectations.

He assured that he is ready for the task that lies ahead, further calling on fans and those interested in Gambian showbiz to follow his musical journey.
