The Gambia Immigration Department (GID), Kanifing Municipality (KM) Region, engaged local authorities in Abuko, including the Ward Councillor, Alkalo, and Village Development Committee (VDC) representatives, to strengthen collaboration and improve access to immigration services.
The engagement focused on enhancing community support for National ID enrolment and identifying ways to strengthen cooperation between the GID and local authorities to improve service delivery.
During the discussion, Ward Councillor Lamin Ndow and other community representatives underscored the importance of stakeholder collaboration in promoting effective service delivery and community development. The Councillor reaffirmed the community’s commitment to supporting the GID in fulfilling its mandate.
The engagement also explored upcoming community development initiatives and opportunities for mutually beneficial collaboration.
KM Regional Commissioner Omar Fofana reaffirmed the GID’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with local authorities, noting their important role in supporting effective service delivery and the implementation of immigration laws.
