Fulbeh Gambia Fow-a-gottal, a Fula association alongside representatives from thirty-two (32) other fula associations in the country, have called on leaders of the two main 'Tabital Pulagu' associations to reconcile and put an end to all existing fractions between them.

They also called the need to have one national “Tabital Pulagu” president or chairperson in The Gambia, who shall serve the association both in The Gambia and in the Diaspora.  The representatives from different fula associations equally called on leaders of the two main 'Tabital Pulagu' associations in the country, Seedy Dem and Mamadu Madu to reconcile and open a new chapter for the greater good of members.

This call was made last Saturday at a presser convened at the Regional Education conference hall in Brikama.

The presser came after the mandate of the heads of the two factions, Seedy Dem and Mamdu Madu, elapsed with members renewing call to go for congress.

At the event, Ali Ceesay, president of ‘Tabital Pulagu’ for Kombo North, disclosed that the fraction that existed between the heads of the two main associations of 'Tabital Pulagu' association is of no interest to the members and the nation.

He thus urged the two leaders to reconcile and put behind the past for the interest of members and nation.

He equally suggested the need to have one association and one leader of “Tabital Pulagu” to be able to serve the interest of all.

He, however, expressed dissatisfaction with the absence of representatives from Seedy Dem’s association at the presser.

Ceesay observed a representative from Mamadu Madu’s association was present, which indicated Madu’s willingness to reconcile for the sake of members.

For his part, Ahmad Muctar Jallow, secretary general of Endam Fulbeh Africa, underscored the importance of unity in any meaningful development.

"It is part of Endam Fulbeh Africa’s principles to ensure that all Fulas become one family with no fractions."

Dawda Loum, Secretary General of ‘Fulbeh Gambia Fow-a-gottal’, highlighted the need to have a leader, who will wipe their tears, but not someone who will hurt them.

As the terms for the two heads had already elapsed, Loum suggested the need to go for congress and for independent cards to be prepared by an independent body to ensure peaceful and transparent election.
