The governor of the Central River Region has expressed dismay at the recent armed robbery that occurred on March 22nd in Ballanghar Kerr Nderry in the Central River Region.

Reacting to the recent development, Ousman Bah described this act of violence as one that not only threatens the safety of local communities, but also undermines the hard work and resilience of the citizens.

“This incident is a stark reminder of the challenges we face in maintaining the safety and security of our communities’ he rationalised. I want to express my deepest gratitude to the people of Ballanghar and the surrounding communities for your unwavering commitment to protecting each other's lives and properties. Your active participation in community policing has made a significant difference, demonstrating that when we come together, we can create a formidable front against crimes” the governor stated.

To that end, he extends sincere appreciation to all the security apparatus for their swift response and continued efforts to ensure the safety of people in the region.

Additionally, Governor Bah thanked traditional leaders for their guidance and collaboration during this challenging time, saying their influence and support is ‘invaluable.’

In light of the recent armed robberies, Governor Bah reminded that it is imperative for the authorities to recognise the pressing need for increased financial security and accessibility by establishing additional bank branches throughout the region.

This, he observed, will help minimise vulnerability to crime while fostering a sense of security.

“I want to assure the residents of the region that we are taking this incident seriously. The authorities are actively collaborating with the law enforcement to ensure the perpetrators are brought to justice swiftly. Let us stand together in solidarity against crime and support each other in this trying time.”

Consequently, he called on communities to remain vigilant and proactive in fostering a safe environment for everyone.
