Backed by the Fyah Nation Band, the event is highly anticipated by the numerous fans of Benjamin and the Frontline Crew, after being away in Germany these past years.
‘Season and Times’, is a motivational melody that encapsulates dancehall, mbalax and ‘zoukous’ genres blended in a unique way to create a distinct masterpiece that fans will truly appreciate. It was carefully designed in such a way that music lovers anywhere would dance to it, thanks to its rich content featuring some of the industry’s heavyweights like Senegalese mbalax maestro- Wally Ballago Secka, Rebellion D Recaller, among a host of others.
At a presser held on Saturday at Sally’s, Benjamin explained the whole idea behind the homecoming tour, saying he has always been promoting positivity through his music on the international stage.
Commenting on the January 18th 2025 concert, the Germany based star revealed that the whole idea is to plough back to the local communities.
“It is a community-event as the proceeds will be ploughed back to the community. Also, this event is here to bring the community together by promoting positivity and oneness. We also use the event to create that avenue, whereby the community would get involved in a way that people will find themselves as part of this and reap the full benefit of music.”
After being away these past years, Benjamin remains hopeful that he thought of putting up an evet to better connect with the people back home.
“So, we call it homecoming after being away from home for sometime now. So, I have decided, after I have done my second album, I thought to myself to do an event and name it ‘Seasons and Times album.”
Considering the plight of his fellow brothers who are in the Diaspora and would wake-up every-day early in the morning to work so hard and hardly have time for themselves to better their families back home. So as musician, he thought to himself that he will not only stop at that but will see how best to create an avenue whereby those in the Diaspora would also participate to celebrate music and the spirit of brotherhood.”
Through this he said they will be able to generate something for the local communities and that is the main idea behind this homecoming concert.
“So after I did the album, I spoke with my team and everyone sees it as a very good idea especially to plough back something to the local communities.”
The Gambian dancehall sensation also briefly spoke about his activities in Europe; promoting music from Germany, Italy to Austria, noting that this tour is basically to deliver that positive message to his fans and see how best to give back to the community.
To this end, Benjamin reminded that the Frontline Music is here to stay, acknowledging that his music was inspired by the people and it is liked by the people.
Lixen Khan, another formidable Gambian dancehall star, who is also a member of the Frontline, spoke about their role as artistes in contributing to national development through music.
He said music is part of their life and they are committed to promoting positivity, while promoting community development.
“Our music basically revolves on issues of concern to the society. In essence, our music touches the every-day struggle that most people in the community face.”
Khan renowned for his stage delivery reminded that Frontline Crew stays true to what they have been known for; promoting the positive sound, while working to salvage the suffering of their communities.
The Gambian star thus called on all to join them on 18th January 2025 at Brikama Box to witness another history.
Meanwhile, this album tour will see live performances from Lixen Khan, ST, Jizzle, Mahaa D Hammer, Musa Fily Jobarteh, ENC, David Spliff, and many more.
