This planned-tour scheduled from 27th October to 9th November 2024, was disclosed at a recent press briefing organised by AMCHAM.
At the recent presser, Momodou L. Drammeh, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM), revealed that the NDI seeks to create a platform through which national savings of both residents and Diaspora Gambians are channeled to finance strategic development projects that are bankable and of national interest.
Through this, he said, nationals will be encouraged to invest in development projects on equity basis and dividends will be paid according to their investment for a given period.
"The bypass road project will start from Sting Corner to Mandina-ba in order to decongest the traffic from Brikama to Banjul. The initiative is going to be financed by the Gambian Diaspora and Gambians staying in the country.”
CEO Drammeh noted that they will be facilitating a team from The Gambia to the United States of America to engage Gambians and friends of The Gambia on this NDI initiative from the 27th of October to 9th of November 2024.
The project, he added, would serve as the promotion and facilitation for Gambians, especially in boosting investment and trade in both countries.
He said the team will be visiting major cities such as; New York City, Atlanta, GA, Madison, WI, Seattle, WA, Dallas, TX and Washington DC, where they will engage Gambians on ways to promote investment opportunity to help shape the future of The Gambia.
