The Lagos-Banjul service will operate twice weekly, with outbound flights departing Lagos every Thursday and Sunday. Return flights from Banjul are scheduled for Mondays and Fridays, departing at 12:30 a.m. and arriving in Lagos by 5:00 a.m. All flights will operate out of the new terminal at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos. Tickets are now available for booking via the airline’s official website.
Speaking on the upcoming route launch, ValueJet’s Managing Director and Accountable Manager, Captain Omololu Majekodunmi, described the initiative as a strategic step in the airline’s mission to enhance intra-African connectivity.
“The introduction of our Lagos-Banjul route is a significant milestone in ValueJet’s journey to expand travel options and strengthen regional integration within West Africa,” he said. “This route will not only facilitate greater business and cultural exchange between Nigeria and The Gambia but also unlock new opportunities for tourism and trade.”
Majekodunmi reiterated the airline’s commitment to providing safe, convenient, and reliable air travel across the region.
“Our goal is to make air travel across the continent more accessible. With the launch of this service, we are excited to bring greater flexibility and choice to travelers along the West African corridor,” he added.
Without much ado, ValueJet will soon become a household name in Destination Gambia taking into consideration its marketing strategy.
In her earlier visit to Banjul, The Gambia in April, Uchechi Achomadu, marketing and communications manager of ValueJet accompanied by staff of the Gambia Tourism Board (GTBoard), visited different corporate offices, government institutions and establishments, some individuals and media houses to promote and announce the upcoming ValueJet Airline operation.
Among other things that made the airline different from existing ones is its direct flight from Lagos, Nigeria to Banjul, The Gambia, she disclosed in her visit.
