UDP candidates vow more exponential developments

Candidates for the United Democratic Party (UDP), who yesterday submitted their credentials to the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) for mayoral and chairmanship have vowed to bring more development initiatives to the doorsteps of their people.

"Politics is not about too much talk, instead showing your track records and plans. For us, we have plans to build roads, bring affordable housing, a recycling centre at Bakoteh dumpsite, and urban public transportation. This is what we sell to the public instead of talking about our opponents," Talib Ahmed Bensouda said shortly after his nomination.

Mayor Rohey Malick Lowe of Banjul City Council (BCC) says she does not even know the people she was offering scholarships to, while Yankuba Darboe for Brimaka Area Council (BAC) says he would open the council to public and media scrutiny to ensure effective financial transparency and accountability.
