The State-Owned Enterprises Commission (SOEC) successfully hosted its inaugural Board Induction on Tuesday, 15 September 2026, at Bakadaji Hotel, bringing together Board members from State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) across The Gambia.

The induction provided an important platform for Board members to strengthen their understanding of the SOE Act 2023, SOE Regulations, and the Code of Good Corporate Governance, with presentations focused on their roles, responsibilities, governance obligations, and compliance requirements.

The program also featured engaging discussions, allowing Board members to share experiences, raise pertinent governance and compliance challenges, and discuss practical approaches to strengthening oversight and accountability within their respective SOEs.

The SOEC extends its appreciation to all participating Board members and contributors for their active engagement.

The successful event marks an important step towards strengthening corporate governance, accountability, and effective Board leadership across The Gambia’s SOE sector.
