Senegalese arrested with 14 parcels of cocaine at airport

Operatives of the country’s Drug Law Enforcement Agency-The Gambia (DLEAG), have arrested one Mouhamadou Mamour Sow, a Senegalese national with 14 parcels of suspected cocaine at the Banjul International Airport; The Point has been reliably informed.

The suspect, who was arrested by DLEAG Airport Command, allegedly used catfish as cover load to disguise the cocaine parcels. The drugs weigh 6kg 900g.

He is currently detained by the narcotics agency as investigations into the matter continues.

A source who is familiar with the matter and wished to speak to The Point on the condition of anonymity, confirmed the development, saying: “The suspect was arrested by the DLEAG’s Airport Command.”

The suspect, he said, is a holder of Senegalese passport and Spanish Residence Permit. “I can confirm that he (Mouhamadou Mamour Sow) was arrested with 14 parcels of cocaine during the checking of the Vueling flight to Barcelona. The passenger's luggage was intercepted at the baggage screening point,” the source told our reporter.
