Momodou Sabally, the ex-campaign manager of the United Democratic Party has affirmed full commitment to the National People’s Party (NPP) and assured President Adama Barrow that he would do everything possible to support the agenda, policies and programmes of the ruling NPP.

Mr Sabally made this statement on Thursday during a meeting he had with President Adama Barrow and the NPP executives at State House after he tendered his resignation from the United Democratic Party (UDP) on Wednesday.

Sabally indicated that he had resigned from the UDP and formally communicated with lawyer Ousainou Darboe, who had respected his decision, adding that he wanted to be on record that  he was eternally grateful to Ousainou Darboe and members of UDP.

“Words cannot express my depth of gratitude of the love, solidarity and support that the leadership and membership the UDP had shown me for the past years. I have decided to join the National People’s Party and I have committed to the agenda of the leader of the great party and its executive,” he declared.

Mr Sabally further stated that he had decided to join the NPP under the leadership of President Barrow and would like to assure everyone that he has now become 100% committed to the NPP and he would do everything possible to support the agenda, policy and programmes of the NPP under the guidance of President Barrow and the distinguished members of the party.

“I want to assure all Gambians that I am in politics for the development of the country. Any political party I join, the joining of that political party is not an end in itself; it is a means to an end.”

Sabally further said he has joined the NPP to help President Barrow and its team move the development agenda of the party.

He also called on the Gambian people who believe in him to join the bandwagon for peace, progress and development.

Concluding, he said President Barrow had said that “he wants the best for the country” and he had assured him that he would do his best to serve the country and deliver well because the Gambia deserves no less.
