Upon arrival, police officers attempted to de-escalate the situation but were overpowered by the individuals involved. As tensions escalated, the officers called for reinforcements. Even with additional personnel at the scene, the aggressors continued to resist and advanced toward the officers.
To restore order, the police issued multiple warnings and fired warning shots. However, the individuals remained defiant and launched an attack on the officers. In response, and in self-defense, the police shot one of the aggressors in the leg, leading to his immediate apprehension, while two others were arrested. The remaining individuals fled the scene.
Arrested Individuals:
- Momodou Njie (30, Njoro Tukulor, CRR) – sustained a gunshot wound to the leg and is receiving treatment at RVTH.
- Ousman Jobe (25, Tuba) – in custody.
- Ousainou Njie (20, Dakar) – in custody.
The suspects are facing assault-related charges and are cooperating with investigators. Meanwhile, police efforts are ongoing to track down the remaining individuals involved in the incident.
