Police nab ‘principal suspect’ over Latirikunda German killing

Police have arrested Buba Jallow, the principal suspect in the alleged murder of 28-year-old mechanic Ebrima Njie of Latrikunda German, The Point has learned.

Njie was reportedly stabbed with a knife during an altercation, after which the suspect fled the scene. He was rushed to Kanifing General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Following the incident, residents of Latrikunda, in collaboration with the police, launched a massive manhunt that led to Jallow’s arrest yesterday morning.

News of Njie’s death sparked anger and grief among community members, many of whom gathered at the Latrikunda Police Station after the suspect’s arrest. Residents expressed frustration over the rising number of violent killings in the country, urging authorities to take stronger action.

Some even called for the government to lift the moratorium on the death penalty as a deterrent against such crimes.

Police investigations into the matter are ongoing, and the suspect at the time of going to press was not yet charge.
