Nine (9) people have already been apprehended by the Anti-Crime Unit at the site for collecting these dumped chickens that could potentially endanger the health of the public, FSQA discloses in a statement.
According to the food safety authority, in collaboration with the Police, the National Environmental Agency, and the Wildlife Department, it has swiftly acted on the situation by ensuring the proper disposal of the unfit chickens.
It states further that Safeguarding public health remains the paramount function of the Authority. Proper disposal practices are crucial to upholding stringent health standards and preventing the occurrence of illicit activities in the future.
“Collectively, Food Safety and Quality Authority, the Police and stakeholders will ensure due process is engaged in the investigation and enforcement of the relevant laws. The general public is once again reassured of our commitment to safe food for all,” it states.
