President Adama Barrow has given assurances that his government would provide electricity supply to over two hundred communities in the Upper River Region in the coming years.

The president said 26 communities in Wulli West and 22 in Wulli East would benefit from the electrification drive.

President Barrow was speaking recently at a joint meeting organised by Wulli East, West and Sandou constituencies held at Kolibantang in URR as his 2022 Meet the People’s Tour continues.

Several concerns are being raised by the communities to seek the helping hand of the president.  The concerns raised include need for water supply, schools, health centres and improved agricultural activities and support.

In line with government’s objective to bolster agriculture in the country, President Barrow assured the women that his government would continue to empower them in their gardening activity to be realising large farm produce year in year out.

He further assured that the government would build skills training centres in all regions to ensure that graduates from those centres do not become just job seekers but also employment creators.

In response to the cattle rearers’ complaints of insufficient water supply for their animals – which is badly affecting their livestock, President Barrow promised the provision of boreholes to communities of cattle rearers.

It is expected that government would have got substantial clue to the challenges and needs of the communities in the regions considering the various concerns they have continued to raise during the President’s tour so far.
