The information, revealed by L'Observateur in its Monday edition, remains discreet on the date and time of this summons, specifying only that "his summons is on the table of the boss of the Dic".
The daily newspaper of Future Media Group, however, returns to the disturbing circumstances in which Mrs. Bâ learned of the disappearance of her husband. During the second half of October, she decided to go to France, worried about not receiving any news from her husband, who was not responding to her calls or messages, an unusual silence for the latter. According to the newspaper, even former colleagues of the minister had tried, without success, to contact him during this same period.
Accompanied by a relative of the family, who could possibly be a doctor (although this information remains unconfirmed), Mrs. Bâ headed directly to her husband's usual hotel. There, his luggage was present, but Moustapha Bâ remained nowhere to be found. He was only told that he had recently asked to go to a nearby pharmacy, suggesting possible discomfort.
According to information relayed by various media, Moustapha Bâ actually suffered discomfort on the way and was transported to hospital, where he fell into a coma for several days before dying on November 4th. However, a judicial source cited by L'Observateur calls this date into question, leaving a lingering doubt.
It was only after days of agonizing research that Ms. Bâ finally learned that her husband had “died in a care facility in Paris,” according to the newspaper. Identifying the body would have been a devastating ordeal for the widow, already exhausted by the long wait.
Initially, the death was attributed to natural causes, and the minister's remains were to be repatriated to Dakar on Saturday for burial scheduled for Sunday in Nioro. However, plans changed following the findings of the public prosecutor, who requested an autopsy. The results indeed indicate that the death could not be natural, forcing the family to postpone the funeral. The Dic now has the responsibility of leading the investigation into this enigmatic affair
New intriguing revelation, Moustapha Bâ was not supposed to go to France
The discovery of Moustapha Bâ's body in France while he was expected in London raised serious questions about the circumstances surrounding his death. Officially, the former Senegalese Minister for Finance was to go to London to take courses, according to L'Observateur.
However, his death, which occurred in Paris after several days of research, plunges this case into a disturbing enigma.
The circumstances of his illness are also intriguing. Relatives reported that Bâ, under anticoagulant treatment since 2018, went to a pharmacy to buy his medication; an unconfirmed but plausible hypothesis due to his medical history. However, the fact that he was found alone and unconscious without identity papers raises new questions: why would he have left his hotel without making sure he had his documents?
This sudden and mysterious disappearance pushed his wife to return to France to try to understand the events. Despite her searches, it was ultimately in a Parisian morgue that she was able to find her husband. In the absence of precise answers, the investigation carried out by the Dakar public prosecutor's office and entrusted to the Criminal Investigation Division (Dic) remains the only way to clarify this tragic mystery, arousing keen expectations in Senegal.
