Outgoing Japanese ambassador hails Gambia-Japan relations

His Excellency Arai Tatsuo, outgoing Japanese ambassador in Senegal and accredited to The Gambia has expressed his appreciation for the excellent relations he has enjoyed with the Republic of The Gambia.

 

“This relationship of friendship has resulted in a mature and solid partnership, which extends into many areas.

The Ambassador is pleased to note that over the past three and half years, despite the geographical distance, the friendship between Japan and the Republic of The Gambia has resulted in a mature and strong partnership.

He carried out 8 official missions in The Gambia. He recalls Japan’s cooperation toward the friendly people of The Gambia which covers vital sectors such as food assistance, water supply especially in rural areas, support to underprivileged farmers through access to mechanisation services, health, Fisheries and technical cooperation to enhance human resources capacity. He hopes that the 8th Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD8) will be a great opportunity to deepen the bilateral relations between our two countries.

H.E. ARAI is confident that the relations between our two countries would continue to develop strongly. And he would continue to strive to do his best to promote friendly and cooperative ties with the Republic of The Gambia.

The Ambassador’s farewell ceremony will be held on 27 January 2022 at the Ambassador’s residence in Dakar - Senegal.”
