NUP leader Abdoulie Jammeh laid to rest

Abdoulie Ebrima Jammeh, the leader of National Unity Party (NUP) passed away on Saturday 5 July 2025 at his residence, the Party announced. He was laid to rest on Sunday in Brikama.

“Mr. Jammeh was a devout Muslim and a senior statesman with outstanding public service record. He served the country in different capacities with dignity and professionalism. He has left great impact on many lives and families through his dedication to helping and seeing others grow,” the Party stated. 

“Indeed, he has gone with so much vision and ambition to see improved livelihoods for Gambians. This is a difficult moment for us and we are broken but Allah does what is best for man.”

“We encourage Gambians to join the NUP and the family of the late Abdoulie Ebrima Jammeh in praying for Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him eternal bliss in Jannatul Firdawsi.”
