New GTBoard chair pledges to elevate Gambia’s tourism sector

The newly appointed chairperson of the Gambia Tourism Board (GTBoard), Momodou Bamba Saho, has vowed to elevate the country’s tourism industry to new heights.

The new chairperson made this commitment during a courtesy visit to the Minister for Tourism, Arts, and Culture (MOTAC), Hon. Abdoulie Jobe, on Wednesday, 19 November 2025, in the Quadrangle, Banjul.

Minister Jobe congratulated Momodou Bamba Saho on his appointment, commending him for accepting the responsibility and assuring him of the Ministry's full support.

“You can count on us for anything. The future of the Gambia tourism sector is bright. We need to work together to achieve our goals as a sector,” Minister Jobe said.

In response, Chairman Saho expressed gratitude to President Adama Barrow for endorsing his appointment and pledged to work diligently to advance the tourism sector.

The brief ceremony was chaired by Ma'am Amie Njie, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture.
