Gov’t urged to repeal death penalty

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) through its recently launched report has urged the state to repeal the death penalty from the Criminal Code and Criminal Procedure Code.
Mr. David Belgrove OBE has been appointed British High Commissioner to the Republic of The Gambia in succession to Ms Sharon Wardle who will be transferring to another Diplomatic Service appointment, a news release from British High Commission states.
Mr. Belgrove would take up his appointment during August 2020.
