Gambia Methodist Laymen's Association celebrates 40 years of existence

At a well-attended service at the Trinity Pro-Cathedral in Serekunda, on Sunday 27 April,the Gambia Methodist Laymen's Association (GMLA) celebrated its 40 years of existence in the Methodist Church of The Gambia.

The Association is made up of men who contribute to the spiritual, financial and social life of the church. The theme of the celebration is, GMLA: 40 Years of Service in the Lord's Vineyard.

In his address, the President of GMLA, Dr Ernest Aubee, highlighted the numerous achievements in the areas of spiritual growth, education, medical outreach, religious knowledge and social responsibility over the last 40 years. The interventions have benefitted diverse people in the country regardless of their faith. In moving into the future, the GMLA will intensify and expand its project outreach.

In his sermon, Rev Sylvester Deigh admonished the GMLA members to spread the word of God to the world as witness of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Awards were presented to members of the association for their significant contributions towards the success of the association over the last 40 years. New members and honorary members were inducted to the association.
