National Builders Party set for launch as Sanneh unveils vision for national development

The Secretary General and leader of the National Builders Party (NBP), Ansu Sanneh, has announced that the party will officially launch on Saturday, 24 October 2026, at the Buffer Zone in Tallinding.

The announcement was made during a press conference held at the Dunas Hotel in Kotu, where Sanneh outlined the party's vision and called on Gambians to embrace a shared responsibility in building the nation's future.

Addressing journalists, supporters and invited guests, Sanneh stressed that patriotism should be more than a sentiment, describing it as a duty that every citizen must be prepared to shoulder.

"Love for one's country must become a responsibility we are all willing to carry," he declared, describing the upcoming launch as the beginning of a national journey aimed at building a stronger and more prosperous Gambia through hard work, discipline and sound judgment.

Sanneh paid tribute to the resilience and determination of ordinary Gambians, highlighting the sacrifices made daily by mothers, farmers and young people striving to improve their lives despite numerous challenges.

He commended mothers who continue to support their families under difficult circumstances, farmers who return to their fields despite poor harvests and economic hardships, and young people who persist in seeking opportunities in the face of adversity.

"Their persistence deserves leadership that works as hard for them as they work for their families," he said.

The NBP leader further unveiled what he described as a comprehensive national development blueprint, a master plan designed to guide the country's social and economic transformation.

He emphasised that effective leadership must be rooted in integrity, accountability and service, arguing that leadership is earned through actions rather than titles.

"A title does not make a person worthy of leadership. Character, sound judgment and service must justify that responsibility every single day," he stated.

Sanneh assured Gambians that transparency and accountability would remain central pillars of the party's governance philosophy, adding that citizens must play an active role in holding leaders accountable.

"The Gambian people have every right to question our plans and hold the NBP accountable for what we have set out to achieve," he said.

As the party prepares for its official launch, Sanneh concluded with a call for unity, determination and national renewal.

"Let us seize this moment with clear minds and hands ready to build the future of our country. The National Builders Party will always think big for The Gambia and build big by creating opportunities for all," he declared.

The October 24 launch is expected to mark a significant milestone for the National Builders Party as it formally enters the country's political landscape and seeks to position itself as a vehicle for development-oriented leadership and national transformation.
