He was laid to rest at his residence in Kunkujang Jatta-ya village, West Coast Region the same day.
Hundreds of mourners including colleagues gathered at his house to pay their last respect before he was finally laid to rest.
Sanyang was described by many as a pious Muslim who was jovial and very down to earth and loved his profession very well.
He was also described as a beloved member of his community and hero of unification of Youths in Kunkujang Jattaya, Makumbaya, Kubariko, Galloya and other satellite villages and The Gambia at large.
His enthusiasm for sports journalism will be greatly missed.
