“I am not only presenting a symbol of personal achievement, but also a symbol of national pride. It exemplifies the greatness that pervades every aspect of our culture and illustrates that, when given the opportunity; individuals from our country can shine on the global stage,” Mayor Lowe stated.

Banjul Mayor further stated that she was grateful to the people of The Gambia for their encouragement and support, adding that their trust in her abilities and everlasting support have spurred her determination to achieve greatness.

“This isn't just about me; it's about all of us who dream big, work hard, and contribute to our country's overall prosperity,” she said.

Lowe, thus, thanked President Barrow for his unflinching support as well as the people of Banjul.

President Barrow also congratulated Mayor Lowe on her achievements.

He observed that Mayor Lowe visiting him at his village and presenting her awards to him is an honour and also reflective of how the central and decentralised structures should relate.

“We are serving the same people, and our cooperation would advance Gambia,” he said.
