President Macky Sall will not make any excuses to the Senegalese people at the end of his last mandate at the head of Senegal. According to him, he did not commit any fault during his ‘magisterium’. Everything that has been done has been done within the rules of the laws and the Constitution.

"I have no excuses to make, since I have not committed any fault. I speak as President of the Republic. I am responsible for this country until April 2. All the actions that have been taken were done within the framework of the laws and regulations. No legal or judicial institution in Senegal has called into question or doubted the sincerity of the actions that were taken,” declared Macky Sall in an interview with the BBC.

“The debate is poorly posed,” he replied when his interlocutor tried again to locate responsibilities during the events which caused the Senegalese political crisis. "It is not a question of forgiving or not forgiving. We must see what happened. From the moment when Parliament (National Assembly), which is the second institution of the country and which is the only to vote the laws, takes the initiative to vote a law, from that moment, the president, who is the head of the Executive, must take the facts into account and this is what was done. So, there is no need to ask for forgiveness or ask the question in these terms. And everything that has been done has been done in strict compliance with the Constitution of Senegal, with which I walk around all the time,” adds Macky Sall, taking out a copy of the Constitution from his pocket.
