President Macky Sall of Senegal has rubbished rumours that he withdrew his support for his former Prime Minister Amadou Ba amid political tension ahead of the election that will be held on the 24th March 2024.

The President solidified his support for the APR candidate and called for massive support from electorates, especially his supporters. He continued to affirm his weight for his chosen candidate amid an intense campaign across the regions of Senegal. These rumours were dismissed after President Sall summoned candidate Ba during his visit to Tivaoune on Tuesday.

President Sall who had earlier announced his willingness to leave office after serving his constitutionally mandated term, vowed to continue his commitment to nation-building by safeguarding the territorial integrity, economic evolution and the ongoing developmental transformation.

After a wide rumour that President Sall had withdrawn his support to Candidate Bah, many political analysts believed that Ba could not secure a victory without the support of the incumbent.

The race for the presidential seat is getting tighter after 19 candidates secured the ticket to contest for the upcoming election with hopes and inspirations of being the next state man of the West African French-speaking country.
