Lightening kills boy, 13, in NBR

Alhagie Matarr Gaye, a 13-year-old boy was reportedly struck dead by lightning in a fast-moving thunderstorm at Ngensanjang village in the Saba Sanjal District of the North Bank Region (NBR), The Point has been reliably informed.

The incident occurred on Wednesday evening 26 August 2021. An anonymous source confirmed the development, saying: “After the incident, the deceased was then moved to the Farafenni general hospital.”

It has come to the notice of the National Human Rights Commission that Major Wassa Camara, in his testimony before the Truth, Reconciliation and Reparation Commission on 17th November, 2020, mentioned the name of one Mr. Sowe as part of a panel who interviewed him in 2006 following a foiled coup d’état. That the said Mr. Sowe, he was ‘made to understand’, now works at the Human Rights Commission.
