KMC announces availability of space for affected vendors

As the ongoing road clearing exercise continues, the Kanifing Municipal Council wishes to express its deepest sympathy with those small business operators affected by this exercise.

Since the demolition exercise started, council has been working to make available spaces within our markets for vendor use. Management is pleased to inform the general public that there are now available spaces in the following markets:

  1. Serekunda Market - A space for 120 kiosks are available
  2. Latrikunda Yiringaya Market - A space for 51, tables are available
  3. Old Jeshwang Market - A space for 240 tables and an open space for kiosks are available
  4. Marche Ngellew - 2 shops and a space for 8 tables are available
  5. Abuko Market - A space for 36 tables are available
  6. Bundung Jola Kunda Market - A space for 60 tables and a space for 20 kiosks are available
  7. Kotu Market - 12 new canteens are available
  8. Bakau Newtown Market - A space for 50 tables and 30 kiosks are available

Finally, the Council would like to inform the general public that under the leadership of the Lord Mayor, management has taken advanced steps to earmark the construction of seven (7) new markets within the municipality to create more space for all those wishing to engage in business.
