
Drammeh, who escaped from Mile II Central Prisons in 2020, has been rearrested through a joint security operation involving Gambian and Senegalese authorities.
Drammeh’s arrest marks the end of a five-year manhunt that drew significant public attention.
Speaking at the briefing ceremony held at the Gunjur Police Station, Officer Commanding Faye Ceesay stated that the briefing ceremony was organised to succinct late Buba Jammeh’s family members about the arrest of fugitive Buba Drammeh.
Ceesay appealed to late Buba Jammeh’s family members to keep patience, adding that Buba Drammeh is currently in custody at the Mile Two Centre Prison.
Ahmed Kebbeh, a traffic officer at the Gunjur Police Station, stated that the briefing ceremony was meant to brief late Buba Jammeh’s family members regarding the arrest of Buba Drammeh.
Kebbeh further stated that Drammeh is set to appear before the court soon.
