Under the leadership of GRA’s Commissioner General Yankuba Darboe, the staff are benefiting from the training meant for African, Arab and SCO member countries.
The two-week training is being organised by the Academy for International Business Officials (AIBO) and sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) of the People’s Republic of China.
The training forms part of China’s broader initiative to enhance communication and cooperation with developing countries, promoting mutual development and prosperity.
According to the organisers , the timely seminar aims to foster international dialogue, share China’s experience in tax modernisation, and explore collaborative opportunities to leverage digital tools for improved revenue mobilisation and governance innovation.
“Tax digitalization has emerged as a key driver in enhancing tax collection efficiency, curbing tax evasion, and creating an enabling environment for domestic resources mobilization,” stated the training material.
According to the GRA, the training objective aligns closely with the recently launched GRA Corporate Strategic Plan 2025-2029, which places a strong emphasis on digitalisation as a means of strengthening domestic revenue collection.
The GRA participants said the seminar incorporates a mix of policy discussions, corporate case studies, on-site learning, and cultural exchanges, equipping participants with the knowledge and skills to drive translormative tax reforms.
