GPF holds discussion with officials from National Security

The Gambia Police Force Technical Working Group in collaboration with the Policy Planning and Training Coordination Group on Wednesday 5 November 2024 held a discussion at the Police Headquarters in Banjul with stakeholders from the Office of National Security on its level of Security Sector Reform implementation programmes. 

This occasion was graced by the Deputy Commissioner of Police Human Resource Unit Omar Bah, Deputy Commissioner of Police Malang Jarju of Prosecution, Assistant Commissioner of Police Fatou Touray of Prosecution, and Chief Superintendent of Police Ousman Colley from Planning and other officers. 

The purpose of the session was to assess the development of the security sector reform policy implementation. The discussion highlighted institutional policies and guidelines, infrastructure development, capability building, and challenges and ways forward for GPF to reform its agenda.

Marking the end of this session, Assan Jaiteh, the Deputy  Regional  security  coordinator ONS and Ebrima Jagne, the  lead consultant (ONS) both expressed satisfaction on the reviewed reforms and used  the opportunity to highlight strategies that would  improve  effectiveness and efficiency.
