Gov’t announces reshuffle in foreign mission, public service

The Gambia government in a press release announced redeployments and fresh appointments in its diplomatic mission and institutions across the country, marking the first major reshuffle in government in 2026.

  1. Omar Baldeh former Director MOFA redeployed and promoted as Deputy Head Of Mission JEDDAH
  2. Habib Jarra recalled as Deputy Head of Mission in Saudi, appointed as Permanent secretary OVP
  3. Ebrima Barry Deputy Head of Mission to Qatar is redeployed to Paris as Deputy Head of Mission 
  4. Mrs Fatim Njie Deputy Head of Mission in Paris recalled as Director at MOFA 
  5. Musa Bah in Qatar promoted to counsellor in Qatar Embassy 
  6. Abubacarr Camara, Director General GTB redeployed to Qatar as Deputy Head of Mission 
  7. Karamo Janneh former DG GMA appointed as Deputy Head of Mission in Sierra Leone 
  8. Kajali Sonko DPS OP, promoted as Permanent Secretary at OP
  9. Amadou Nyang, DPS OP promoted to Permanent Secretary at OP
  10. Mrs Kumba Faye, Prinicipal Analyst promoted to DPS OP
  11. Saikou Jeng , appointed as Executive Director National Social Protection Agency 
  12. Noah Touray Ambassador to Spain recalled. 
  13. Abdoulie Jaffuneh, Secretary to PSC promoted to appointment as Deputy Secretary to Cabinet 
  14. Mustapha Nyabally DPS PMO redeployed to Public Service Commission 
  15. Lamin Saidy Director PMO appointed on promotion as DPS at PMO
  16. Sulayman Sumareh confirmed appointment as MD NRA
  17. Momodou Ceesay GPPC redeployed Head of mission, Dismissed. 
  18. Wura Bah appointed acting MD GPPC
