Gambian to chair 2023 Africa Together Confab at Cambridge

Mr Ceesay, doing his Masters of Entrepreneurship and Social Innovation at the University of Cambridge Judge Business School, is already an influential youth leader in global affairs and has met the likes of US Treasury Secretary Ms Janet Yellen, German Finance Minister Dr Eva Wimmer, First Deputy Prime Minister Ms Sigrid Kaag of The Netherlands and Ms Noor bint Ali Al Khulaif, the Finance and Sustainable Development Minister of Bahrain.

The Africa Together Conference is a premier student-led conference on Africa at the University of Cambridge pioneered by African Society of Cambridge University (ASCU), which seeks to build an exciting interface between Africans and non-Africans in Cambridge, create a platform for networking and debate on issues of Pan-African importance, foster research capacity within Africa, as well as mentor prospective students from Africa studying at the University of Cambridge.

Almost a decade now, the conference has continued to rally great minds, speakers and influential African leaders, including academics, innovators, policy experts, diplomats, businesspersons, young professionals and students representing several countries across the world, who have contributed to the advancement of Africa and African businesses, to discuss issues facing the continent.

Its goals include assisting in forming relationships with Africans in the diaspora in order to better understand and encourage efforts to resolving the economic and socio-political difficulties that are confronted in Africa.

In addition to project pitches, and artistic and cultural exhibitions, the confab will also provide the platform for individuals, businesses and institutions to network and create new strategic partnerships to build coordinated responses to current continental challenges.

Moreover, it is also intended to galvanize tangible commitments from continental and diaspora allies to pledge both resources and expertise towards the actionable projects and resolutions that will emerge from the conference.
