The title of the publication, which comes in two volumes, by Wicked Shadow Press is ‘Masks of Sanity: Hidden in Plain Sight’. Compiled by Parth Sarathi Chakraborty, the collection stitches together varied stories emerging from diverse backgrounds, written by both veteran and emerging authors across the world.
“I am happy to inform you that my story, which is titled "Suicide Note" has won a place in the publication of the Wicked Shadow Press,” said Juwara, also a third year English Major at the School of Education, University of The Gambia (UTG).
He added: “With tons of stories submitted, I take great pride in having appeared as one of the winners who have their stories featured in the publication.”
The short story by the Panacea Poet, a moniker by which the young Gambian writer is sometimes referred to, is titled ‘Suicide Note’.
The ‘Suicide Note’ is centred around a young lady who decides to kill her husband and take her own life as well. But before carrying out the intended deed, she decides to write a letter to her friend explaining her ordeals in her marital house which leads her to that decision. The letter is the 'suicide note'.”
