The suspect is currently detained by the narcotics agency as investigation into the matter continues.
Bakary Gassama, the director general of DLEAG, has confirmed the development, saying: "The suspect Lamin Keita - holder of Gambian passport and Italian Residence permit - was intercepted by DLEAG at cabin screening point with 4 blocks of cocaine, weighing 5kg."
He added: "The drug was concealed inside his hand luggage. AVSEC was also present during the interception."
The courier, he went on, was travelling to Barcelona with Vueling Airlines. "The bag in which the drugs were concealed was also containing ‘jujus’," he mentioned.
