The Gambia Fashion Award is set to honour the nation's leading male fashion figure in the country’s most anticipated fashion awards event at the Jama Hall in Kairaba Beach Hotel on February 6.

Organised by Trace Thullah, the events is geared towards promoting Gambian fashion and recognising some of those figures leading and shaping the domain.

Ebrima Badjie, the leading male fashion star, with awards and honours under his belt, is listed a Recognised Fashion Icon.

In an exclusive interview, Gambian Eboulie, as he is fondly called, spoke about this latest milestone.

He said: "The award recognises my contribution and influence within the fashion industry, particularly my efforts in promoting African fashion with a modern identity and encouraging its everyday wear beyond special occasions."

Ebrima emerged in the professional fashion space in 2017, eventually distinguishing himself through unique styles pivoting around and celebrating local cultural heritage with some subtle modernity.

This honour comes off as one of the fruits of a passionate love for fashion from early years.
